UPDATE: Demonstration at the Diplomat & Vote to Authorize Strike Oct. 14th

The Diplomat Beach Resort continues to be in a serious and escalating labor dispute. On Wednesday Oct 11th workers at the Diplomat held a demonstration, and tomorrow, Oct 14th they will vote to authorize a strike.

Past and future customers have been notified about the strike vote.

We want you to stand with us:

Sign our pledge today, and show the Diplomat that you care about us – the housekeepers, maintenance workers, bartenders, and banquet servers – who work hard every day to bring the hotel experience to life.

I/we pledge to support the workers at the Diplomat up to and including a strike or boycott. In the event of a strike or boycott, I/we will support UNITE HERE picket lines and other actions. I/we urge the Diplomat to negotiate with its workers in good faith, and settle the contract to the workers’ satisfaction. Workers are asking for a wage they can live on, healthcare for their families, and a commitment to hire and train local residents.
